Oliver Lee Bateman is a journalist, lawyer, and historian who primarily writes about pro wrestling, strength and fitness, physical culture, sports history, MMA, legal history, media studies, and cultural criticism. He is currently a full-time columnist for UnHerd as well as a contributing writer to Bill Simmons’ The Ringer and Splice Today. He has also created content for a wide range of media outlets and publications, including VICE, Al-Jazeera, Salon, Pacific Standard, The New Republic, Vox, The Atlantic, Columbia Journalism Review, Compact, The Outline, American Affairs Journal, Matter, The American Conservative, The Spectator, VQR, Teen Vogue, Men’s Health, Washington Examiner, Hazlitt, The Awl, and The Paris Review.
